1. Spectrum selection
Different plants have different requirements for the spectrum, and the spectrum range of the grow light should be selected according to the growth stage of the plant:
Blue light (400-500nm): helps the growth of leaves and roots of plants, suitable for the growth stage of plants.
Red light (600-700nm): promotes flowering and fruiting, suitable for the flowering and fruiting stages of plants.
Full spectrum light: imitates natural sunlight, suitable for all-weather planting, provides comprehensive lighting, and promotes the growth of plants at all stages.
2. PPFD and DLI
Make sure the lamp provides sufficient PPFD to meet the needs of plant photosynthesis and consider DLI, which is the total amount of light required by plants per day (mol/m²/d). Choose a lamp that can provide a suitable DLI, and ensure that the light evenly covers the entire planting area to avoid local light being too strong or too weak.
3. Light Cycle
The light cycle of plants is usually 12-16 hours, simulating the natural day and night changes. You can choose lamps with timing functions to automatically adjust the light cycle to avoid long-term exposure of plants to light.
Choosing a suitable grow light requires considering factors such as spectrum, light intensity, and energy efficiency. For most gardens and plants, full-spectrum LED lights are the most recommended choice, which can provide balanced light, energy saving, long life, and meet the growth needs of different plants.
