The interaction layer provides a user interface for remote access and automated coordination. Through a smartphone app, growers can view real‑time sensor graphs, receive alerts (e.g., "driver temperature too high"), and manually override light schedules. Wireless connectivity is typically achieved with Zigbee, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), or Wi‑Fi modules, often integrated into a gateway hub.
For large commercial facilities, the interaction layer also supports automation rules that cross multiple devices. For example, a grower can set a routine: "When PPFD drops below 150 μmol/m²/s for 10 minutes, turn on supplemental LED bars at 50% intensity." Using the same app, the grower can monitor energy consumption and even receive predictive maintenance warnings. This level of accessibility makes sophisticated plant lighting practical for both home hobbyists and industrial vertical farms.
