Comprehending lighting metrics is essential in optimizing crop production. PPF, or the Photosynthetic Photon Flux, is the concept used to express how much light a fixture emits into the world; it is expressed as micromoles (unit measure of light) per seconds.

PPFD (Photossynthetic Photon Flux Density) is a measurement that determines how much of that light is reaching your plants (PlantPhotossynthetic Photon Flux Density).

At the same time, PPE (Photosynthetic Photon Efficacy) reflects the conversion efficiency of lamp into usable light. The rate, measured in (micromoles per Joule), indicates how much more plant energy will be produced per unit of energy input, thus reducing operating cost as it increases.
